Flip Disc Productions has just introduced Dance, Dance Revolution (DDR) as a new entertainment service to add more life and fun into your next event.

Dance, Dance Revolution (DDR) – an arcade game that debuted in Japan in 1998 and made its way to the United States a few years after – is an obsession that’s hard to break once you begin.  

To someone watching a round of DDR for the first time, the game looks like a combination of high-impact aerobics and a legs-only version of twister.  A player or two stand on a metal dance pad in front of the DDR machine and choose a song and difficulty level.  Once the song begins, the game screen shows a series of arrows pointing up, down, left and right.  As the arrows move toward the top of the screen, the dancers step on the corresponding arrow on the metal dance pad.  The faster the song, the faster the player has to step and jump.  And the more accurate and timely the player’s steps are, the higher the score. 

Two players can compete head-to-head or just try to beat their own personal best score.  There are beginner levels for first time players with increasing levels of play for the seasoned professionals.  DDR is as much fun to watch as it is to play.

Here are the requirements for having DDR at your next event; 

1. A minimum clear space 10’ wide by 10’ deep, Best located in an area separate from other DJs or bands.

2. The playing area must be indoors and have controllable room lighting.           

3. Access to the playing area 1 hour prior to the beginning of play time to set up.

4. A single electrical outlet within 100’ of the playing area.
